I discovered the joy of working with clay at pottery evening classes in 2004. I soon realised that, of all the different ways of making things, throwing clay on the wheel was the one that I enjoyed the most. After retiring from my job as a GP in 2010, I have devoted more and more time to making pots. I use a white stoneware clay and mainly throw domestic ware. Although I prefer making functional pieces, I have completed commissions for tile projects, and decorative forms.
My pots are glazed either by dipping or pouring, and the finished pieces are fine in ovens, dishwashers and microwaves. Some pieces have underglaze slip decoration.
